DVX Productions Plymouth

Professional video production services in the heart of Plymouth Barbican since 1981.

About DVX Productions

Run by leading filmmaker Alan Tibbitts, DVX Productions operates from our shop and studio facility in the heart of the Barbican in Plymouth. Since 1981, we have built a strong reputation with many satisfied clients both nationally and internationally. Our vast experience spans corporate, training, and promotional video production, confirmed by the volume and diversity of our programmes.

We provide an expert camera crew and a creative editing team, along with scriptwriters, professional narrators, and high quality 3D computer graphics. We also offer a complete and competitive duplication and packaging service, plus cine film and obsolete format conversions to DVD.

Commercial Video Production

Producing to the highest standards, we have created extremely effective films for companies and organisations throughout the UK. Whether you have a service, product or company to promote, require a promotional DVD, video clips for your website or exhibitions, undertake in-house training or audio-visual presentations, or need coverage of a special event, DVX is the answer. Whatever your video requirements are, we can solve them.

We work in full HD broadcast specifications with national and international coverage. Our versatility and commitment to quality have made us a trusted partner for diverse video production needs.

Medical and Training Films

We have extensive experience producing medical and educational films. Our work with the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital includes subjects ranging from cataract procedures, coping with cancer at home, incontinence, and lifting and walking mobility. For several years, Alan worked closely with leading child psychotherapist Lynne Barnett, following a child's life from birth to age 21.

We have undertaken promotional films for both the RNIB and the RNID. Recently, we produced a series of highly acclaimed films for Torbay Care Trust on subjects such as dementia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis in the elderly. We continue to create films informing medical professionals about good practice when dealing with dementia sufferers and their carers.

Wedding Video Services

DVX Productions specialises in capturing your special day with creativity and professionalism. We have filmed weddings throughout Devon, Cornwall, and beyond, from intimate ceremonies to grand celebrations. Our approach focuses on telling your unique story, capturing the emotion, joy, and memorable moments that make your wedding day unforgettable.

Our wedding portfolio includes beautiful venues across the Southwest, and we pride ourselves on being unobtrusive while ensuring every important moment is recorded. From the ceremony to the speeches and the first dance, we deliver a finished film you will treasure forever.

Heritage and Documentary Projects

DVX Productions has created compelling documentary content celebrating local and national heritage. Our project on Isambard Kingdom Brunel captures the life of Britain's most famous engineer for the first time, taking viewers on a journey visiting the legacy he left behind. We have also worked on historical films featuring Plymouth Barbican, the earliest known moving footage of Plymouth, and the story of Plymouth and the Astor family.

We have produced films for the Donkey Sanctuary, showcasing their vital work caring for thousands of donkeys both in the UK and internationally, including their sanctuary in India. Our heritage work combines meticulous research with engaging storytelling.

Additional Services

Beyond filming and editing, DVX Productions offers comprehensive video services including aerial drone filming, format conversions, and duplication. We can transfer your old cine films and obsolete video formats to modern digital formats and DVD, preserving precious memories for future generations.

Our duplication and packaging service is complete and competitively priced, making us a one-stop solution for all your video production needs. Whether you need a single copy or a large run, we deliver quality results on time and within budget.
