The Life of Mac Vidi
Duration approx 160 mins

This is the story of one of the most remarkable racehorses of all time. Bred from a racing throw-out, who cost only £100, Mac Vidi became the racing public's hero, when at the ages of 14 and 15 he won a string of top class races and was 2nd in Steeple chasing's Blue Riband, the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
His owner-breeder-trainer is also from a most unlikely background. This video relates how together, after many trials and tribulations, they aimed for the stars and achieved what the experts thought was impossible.
Narrated by Mac Vidi's owner, Pam Melville (nee Neal).
Includes contributions from jockeys Bill Smith, Paul Leach and Hendrik Wiegersma and footage of Mac Vidi as a foal and youngster, his sire and dam and his lonely training on Dartmoor; as well as rare archive film and televised footage of his races. PAL format.
